Thanks to Christopher Petterson for this review. If you want to send us a review of a game please send it to Lori@themx.info or use one of our contact forms.
Greetings  all,
this is my first foray into the world of video game reviews so at times I may seem a little new so bear with me.....

First all of these reviews are based on a scale of 1-5 and on story, gameplay, control, graphics/effects, and overall.....oh and if you have a request for a specific game please send your requests to Lori@themx.info well enough of the formalities.....on with the show!

RATCHET AND CLANK: GOING COMMANDO

Well it's been about two years since our heroes Ratchet and Clank saved Ratchets home planet from destruction....and since then well.........they've gotten a little bored and more than a little forgotten. Then of course, as with all heroes, they are needed yet again........

This is the setup for the sequel to one of the best games of 2001 for the PS2. This game has been long awaited by many fans of the first (yours truly included) and I must say ...I am impressed....and being as I am VERY picky, that's saying something........

Story....3.5/5.0

OK if this game has a weak point this would be it......I mean it's an action game so don't expect Shakespeare. Ratchet and Clank's popularity has waned a little since saving Ratchets homeworld
and well.....they're bored. Suddenly they are transported to a planet halfway across the galaxy and asked to become mercenaries to recover a stolen experiment. well that's about it but it's a wild ride getting there. You will go through several worlds and environments fly space fighters, and fight in arenas gladiator style all in pursuit of a masked thief that stole a fuzzy blue thing in a cage.

Gameplay...5.0/5.0

In a word awesome......all of what made the prequel what it was plus a TON of added features.
The first one you might see is that instead of finding health upgrades or buying them you now earn them through experience. The more enemies you kill the quicker you level up. Your weapons also upgrade in this fashion the more you use them the quicker they will change to more powerful weapons. Now anyone who has played the first game knows about the many "mini-games" you played from time to time....well they have grown up. Now called "Maxi-games" there are more of them and they have more meat to them and are just plain more enjoyable instead of annoying.
Oh by the way wait till you see the "sphere-world" levels.....I mean WOW!

Control...4.0/5.0

Well here the control is more than adequate  but sometimes the camera is problematic. You seem to always get hit by an unseen enemy and the weapons seem to have a problem finding a target
but once you get through all that everything works just fine....but you will be thankful that you can sometimes fall from any height and not lose life!

Graphics/effects...5.0/5.0

Ok when compared to the Xbox and the PC the PS2 is usually the low man on the pole where graphics are concerned.....fear not, this is not the case here! The first game was jaw-droppingly beautiful and the amount of things moving at one time in the foreground and the background without slowdown was amazing. No less amazing here....and it looks to have been cleaned up a bit.  the animation of the enemies is smoother and the overall design of your opponents is meaner....just  wait till you meet Chainblade!

Overall....4.9/5.0

This is just a great game...period. anyone who likes action/platformers or weapon based shooters
will embrace this one and unlike many of the weapon laden games it's actually light on the violence. no blood and mostly robotic enemies who explode into bolts when beaten. but still rated T for Teen for a lot of cartoonish violence but no more than a day of Looney Toons.
